National Remembrance Day

The Embassy of Algeria in Bujumbura (Burundi) observed today the National Day of Memory, commemorating the massacres of May 8, 1945, under the theme 'A People Who Sacrificed... and Triumphed'.

The ceremony commenced with the raising of the national flag in honor of our valiant martyrs.

Her Excellency Ambassador Sabah Fedel delivered a speech on this occasion in the presence of members of the Algerian community residing in Burundi.

The event also featured a photo exhibition documenting colonial crimes perpetrated against the Algerian people.
